- Overall, September saw a slight drop in the average interstate rental inspections from 24.7% to 23.2%. That’s 1 in 4 rental inspections around the country coming from outside the state the property is located in.
- The Sunshine Coast is seeing almost 30% of rental inspections coming from interstate, and almost 10% coming from overseas.
- Brisbane is seeing 24.8% inspections from interstate and 7% from overseas. This is up from 18.5% in June.
- The Gold Coast is seeing 1 in 3 rental inspections coming from outside Queensland (33%), and 6.8% coming from overseas.
- Melbourne is seeing just under 1 in 5 rental inspections from interstate (19.42%), which is up from a low of 15.3% in March. 8% of renters looking at Melbourne properties are inspecting from overseas.
- Sydney’s interstate inspection numbers dipped slightly from 11.6% to 10.3%, with another 6.4% of inspections coming from overseas.
- Perth’s interstate rental inspections remained at over 20%, sitting at 22.2% in the month of September, and nearly 9% coming from overseas.
