The Wrap Up
Across the nation, we’re seeing continued strong interest in remote property inspections, with some interesting shifts from the previous month. In July, 22.3% of rental inspections were conducted interstate, a slight increase from June’s 22%. International interest has also grown, with 10.1%, or 1-in-10 inspections, coming from overseas, up from 9.6% in June.
Here’s the breakdown:
- Sunshine Coast: Interstate interest rebounded strongly from 22% to 24.6%, while international interest continued its upward trend, growing from 9.9% to 11.3%.
- Brisbane: Saw a boost in interstate inspections from 22.6% to 23.6%, but experienced a dip in international interest from 9.8% to 8.1%.
- Gold Coast: Maintained its position as a top choice, with interstate interest holding steady at 28.2% (down slightly from 28.5% in June). International interest saw a minor dip from 10.9% to 10.5%.
- Sydney: Bucked the national trend with a decrease in interstate inspections from 16.6% to 13.9%, but saw a significant jump in overseas interest from 9% to 10.6%.
- Melbourne: Experienced a small uptick in interstate interest from 21.7% to 21.8%, and saw substantial growth in international enquiries from 11.1% to 12.8%.
- Perth: Bounced back strongly with interstate inspections, rising from 21.2% to 24.3%, and saw a slight increase in international interest from 7.3% to 7.5%.
