Overall: 26% of rental inspections came from interstate in February, or just over 1 in 4 renters exploring homes beyond their current borders.

  • Sunshine Coast: 31.9% of renters explored properties outside the state, which is down from 35.2% in January. International interest remained climbed to 9.5%.
  • Brisbane: Started the year with 22.6% of digital rental inspections originating from interstate. February’s saw a leap to 27.3% in interstate inspections and nearly 10% from international interest.
  • Gold Coast: Roughly 1-in-3 renters inspected interstate properties, with 35.1% of digital rental inspections coming from outside the state. International Interest climbed to 9.1%.
  • Sydney: Saw an uptick in interstate rental interest, now sitting at 13.3% and an additional 9.6% coming from international renters.
  • Melbourne: Saw 1-in-4 renters exploring properties outside Victoria, with 25.8% of rental inspections from outside the state. International interest remained stable at 8%.
  • Perth: Continues its momentum, with 24.3% of digital rental inspections originating from outside the state, and 8.1% coming from international renters.
